   It really shows how great Alice in Chains are and especially how great a frontman Layne Staley was. Definitely on par with the Unplugged shows of Pearl Jam and Nirvana IMO. If you like Alice in Chains, do yourself a favor and buy this DVD!! You will not regret it!!/5().

   Between the end of and a performance for MTV Unplugged in the spring of , Alice in Chains performed no concerts -- they didn't even support the release of their eponymous third album with a minor tour. There's a variety of reasons for their inactivity -- primarily it's due to the health of certain members -- but the lack of concerts made the Unplugged performance seem special.
